teaching of Universal Ethics, known as the
Dear Friend, The Institute for Judaism and Civilization is due to begin a new series of courses online in the teaching of Universal Ethics, known as the Noahide laws. This ethical doctrine, which is at the root of the major world cultures, and has been transmitted in great detail in Jewish tradition (apart from its own specific precepts), is applicable to all current social questions. Because of their universal resonance, they promise a special efficacy across cultures. They have been recognized by the US Congress as the “bedrock of society since the dawn of civilization” and the former Governor General of Australia, Major General Michael Jeffery, has stated that “they apply to all contemporary issues”. See the latest newsletter of the Institute http://www.ijc.com.au/newsletter/2008/2008-10-24.pdf and the course offerings with registration form at http://www.ijc.com.au/courses.html Enrolments close November 10, 2008 please feel free to contact the Institute at admin@ijc.com.au or phone (61-3) 9527 5902. Yours Sincerely, Shimon Cowen Rabbi Dr Shimon Cowen, Director, Institute for Judaism and Civilization
